Chattanooga, Tennessee, US
Winter sunset view from Chattanooga’s Walnut Street bridge. The bridge, stretching 2,376 feet accross the Tennessee River was built in 1890, closed to motor vehicles in the 1970s, and was renovated and reopened as a pedestrian bridge circa 2010. It is an exceptional way to get a romantic view of downtown and the river against a backdrop of the Appalachian foothils. Be sure to check the sunset times during your stay and allow time for parking and a walk along the river or through historic downtown. The bridge is wheelchair accessible from downtown near the Tennessee Aquarium or via a ramp up from the riverside, which spirals up from below the bridge.
